Elephant Conservation Experience (additional cost)

Groups of up to eight guests join andBeyond Phinda's ongoing elephant research programme, watching a wildlife veterinarian dart an elephant from the air before helping fit a fresh tracking collar. Only four collars are due for replacement, so places are limited across four separate group outings. A helicopter and vet must both be available on the day, so timing depends on their schedules. Participants must be twelve or older, and groups of fewer than six guests are taken out in a private vehicle. A stay of at least three nights is required, giving the reserve a better chance of the right conditions for darting.
