Interpretive Nature Walks and Big Game Viewing Walk (Included; subject to the availability of a qualified guide)

A walking excursion led by a ranger, starting near the lodge and moving into the surrounding bush on foot. The guide points out plants, insects and smaller creatures often missed from a vehicle, and shows guests how to read tracks and signs left by larger animals. An armed tracker accompanies the group when following bigger game, working slowly and quietly to avoid disturbing them. The pace is deliberate, giving time to notice details of sound, scent and disturbed vegetation. Offered subject to a qualified guide being available, it is included in the stay at Phinda Rock Lodge.
