Rhino Conservation Experience (additional cost)

Guests join andBeyond's veterinary team as a rhino is located by helicopter, darted and put to sleep for ear-notching, part of the reserve's rhino identification and security programme. Ear notches and horn microchips let researchers track individual animals. Up to eight guests share a vehicle for the operation, from the darting through to touching the anaesthetised animal during notching. Participants must be twelve or older, and the activity depends on the availability of the wildlife vet and helicopter pilot. A minimum stay of three nights is required, and the experience carries an additional cost, excluding accommodation.
