Rhino Conservation Activity (additional cost)

Guests join the veterinary team on the ground as a rhino is located and darted from a helicopter, then help with ear-notching while the animal lies anaesthetised. Ear notches and horn microchips let researchers identify individual rhino across the reserve, part of ongoing security and monitoring work. Groups of up to eight guests share a vehicle for the full process; fewer than six requires a private vehicle. Participants must be twelve or older, and the activity depends on the availability of the vet and helicopter pilot. A minimum stay of three nights is required to allow for favourable darting conditions. Booked at additional cost, excluding accommodation.
