Rhino Conservation Experience (additional cost)

Guests join andBeyond's veterinary team during an actual rhino notching procedure at Phinda Private Game Reserve. A helicopter locates and darts the animal, and once it is safely anaesthetised, guests travel to the site by vehicle, in groups of up to eight sharing one car, to watch the process and touch the sleeping rhino. Ear notches and a microchip placed in the horn allow researchers to identify individual rhino for ongoing security and monitoring. The experience runs at additional cost, and a minimum stay of three nights at the reserve is required to take part.
