Ashnil Mara Camp

Set on a bend of the Mara River within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Ashnil Mara Camp is twenty-seven tents rebuilt in 2025 with hardwood floors, modernised bathrooms, and in-tent WiFi. Each tent includes a lounge area, minibar, mosquito netting, and a private deck facing the river. Three family tents hold interconnected sleeping areas and expanded lounge space.

The main areas have been redesigned to open onto river views. A pool, bar, and restaurant anchor the public zone. From 2026, dining shifts to plated four-course dinners. A sunken fire pit, yoga deck, photography studio, and gym are scheduled to open in the same year. Guided game drives depart at dawn and in the late afternoon, with year-round sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, and plains herds. Walking safaris track wildlife on foot with a professional guide.

Bush breakfasts can be arranged beside the hippo pool, and barbecue lunches or dinners are set in the open savannah. Private sundowners take place at a chosen spot overlooking the plains. A cultural visit to a Maasai village introduces guests to the community's beadwork, dance, and herding traditions. Hot-air balloon safaris lift at dawn for an aerial view of the reserve. The camp is a four-to-five-hour drive from Nairobi or a forty-five-minute scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara. You can hear hippos from the river deck. Laundry service and WiFi are complimentary.
