Bogor Botanical Garden
One of the southern hemisphere's oldest botanical gardens
Skip to product information
Laid out in 1817 by German botanist Caspar Karl Reinwardt, this garden has grown alongside the city of Bogor ever since. It holds over fifteen thousand types of tropical plants brought from many parts of the world, each one labelled with its common name, its Latin name and the date it was planted. Paths wind through varied planting, from shaded groves to open lawns, making it a straightforward walk from the Aston Bogor Hotel and Resort. Guests can pair the visit with a self-guided walk elsewhere on site, or bring a gourmet picnic to eat among the trees.
