Night Game Drive
Spotlighting the Kalahari's nocturnal creatures after dark
Skip to product information
A guided drive setting off after dinner, once the desert has gone dark and quiet. Guides use a powerful spotlight to pick out animals that only emerge at night: aardvark, bat-eared fox, porcupine, springhare, aardwolf and wild cat, along with owls and other nocturnal birds. The vehicle moves slowly through the reserve so guests can watch each sighting for a while before continuing. In winter, hot mulled wine or sherry is served along the way; in summer, a cold drink instead. It is a different side of the ranch from the daytime drives, built around sound, silence and the animals that avoid the sun.
