Banyan Tree Ilha Caldeira

Banyan Tree Ilha Caldeira sits on a previously uninhabited private island inside the Primeiras e Segundas Archipelago, a large protected marine reserve off the coast of Mozambique. The reserve holds intact living coral systems, dugongs, and both green and hawksbill turtles. The island has white sand beaches and the ocean on every side.

Five villa categories sleep two to eight guests. The Bliss Pool Villa is built for two, with a king bed, open lounge, and private pool. The Serenity Pool Villa also sleeps two adults, with a separate lounge and a walkway connecting the bedroom to the en-suite bathroom through tropical vegetation. A two-bedroom version of the Serenity sleeps four adults plus a child. Two four-bedroom configurations — the Serenity and the Harmony — each accommodate eight guests plus a child, with separate bedrooms, spacious lounges, and private pools. All villas have air conditioning, a balcony or deck, bath and shower, an outside shower, and a private pool or jacuzzi. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included throughout.

On the water, you can kayak, sail, fish, or go boating. The resort runs turtle tracking and whale watching, and the surrounding reef makes the marine reserve itself the primary draw. On land there is a spa with massages, a restaurant offering fine dining and high tea, and a bar. The activity desk can arrange excursions.
