Safari San Carlos River

A boat trip along the San Carlos River, heading towards the border with Nicaragua. Along the way, guides point out birds, turtles, monkeys, iguanas and crocodiles that live along the banks. The route ends at Boca San Carlos, a small community named for the point where the San Carlos River meets the San Juan River on the Nicaraguan side. Visitors can walk through the settlement, and local residents sometimes offer a natural soft drink to guests who wish to try one.
