Lion Feeding Experience

Guests travel by game vehicle to the five-hectare lion enclosure at Buffelsdrift, home to Shumba, Tonga and Safia. From an elevated viewpoint, a trained game ranger feeds the lions while guests watch from a safe distance. These are wild animals, never touched or handled, even by the rangers themselves. The ranger explains key facts about lion behaviour and biology throughout. Groups are capped at twenty guests, and booking ahead is advised. The experience runs for roughly one to two hours, depending on how the lions behave on the day. A camera is worth having ready.
