Camp Sabali

Camp Sabali sits on a seasonal island at the point where the Luangwa and Lupande rivers meet, on the boundary of South Luangwa National Park in Zambia's Eastern Province. The camp holds six tented chalets. The Luangwa River and its lagoons carry some of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa — hippo and crocodile in the water, around one hundred mammal species and more than four hundred bird species in the surrounding bush and floodplains, many visible from camp.

Each tented chalet sleeps two people and has an en-suite bathroom with both an indoor shower and an outdoor shower. A small terrace faces the floodplains toward the river. The camp has a pool, a bar, a library, and communal dining in a dining room or a boma.

Two game drives run each day: a morning drive departing at six after an early coffee, and an evening drive beginning at four with a sundowner stop before dark. Guided walking safaris are also offered, led by experienced field guides. Night drives are available on site. Massages can be arranged within camp.

Meals are prepared from ingredients sourced locally — fruit, vegetables, and meat from growers and farmers in the area. The kitchen accommodates vegetarian guests. A complimentary airport shuttle connects the camp with Mfuwe Airport, the nearest airstrip for South Luangwa.
