Sector el Taique lies inside Chile's Los Lagos region, on the fringe of Puyehue National Park where lake water, hot springs, and volcanic rock share the same short radius. The lodge works as a base for the Valdivian forest trails at Aguas Calientes, a twenty-minute drive away, and for the Puyehue hot springs a little closer still. Both hold outdoor pools and, at Aguas Calientes, natural pools warmed along the Chanleufu riverbank. Waterfalls define the near ground: the Calzoncillo falls, 280 metres high, drop in two stages into Lake Rupanco just 14 kilometres off, with views to the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes from the trailhead. It is a landscape built for walking. Longer routes climb Casablanca volcano and Cerro Sarnoso, six hours round trip each, crossing solidified lava fields and forest to reach ridgelines with views over several lakes and volcanoes at once. Staff can also arrange fishing, kayaking, or riding with local guides. Rooms come as double, triple, or quadruple, plus a cabin sleeping five. Breakfast and daily housekeeping are included in the room rate.
