Caprivi River Lodge

The lodge lies 4.5 kilometres outside Katima Mulilo on the B8, set along the Zambezi River beneath indigenous trees. Ten thatched chalets face the water; each includes an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, a fridge, satellite television, tea and coffee station, and complimentary Wi-Fi. A terrace runs along the front of every chalet. Five hold queen beds; four have twin beds; one family chalet accommodates more than two. The main building holds a lounge, bar, and kitchen; a dining lapa extends from it, followed by decks and walkways that overlook the river. A boma fireplace anchors the evening.

Built in 1997, the property sits within the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. Boat cruises and sunset cruises depart from the lodge; fishing trips and birding excursions run on the river. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the region. Game drives and cultural tours operate as day trips. Excursions to Nkasa Lupala, Mudumu, and Bwabwata national parks leave from the lodge; Chobe National Park lies 64 kilometres away across the Ngoma border into Botswana. Victoria Falls sits 200 kilometres south in Zimbabwe. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner; a bar stocks drinks. Secure parking is standard. Mpacha airport lies 20 kilometres from the lodge.
