Castle Hotel Macroom sits in the market town of Macroom, in County Cork, roughly between Blarney to the east and Killarney to the west — which puts it in useful reach of both without committing to either as a base.

The rooms and suites have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi, and televisions. The hotel runs three places to eat and drink under one roof: B's Restaurant, which works with local and seasonal produce; Dan Buckley's Bar; and the Next Door Café, a continental-style café that does home-baked food.

The leisure club holds several water facilities — a main pool, a bubble pool for adults, a separate children's pool, and a steam room — alongside a gym. That range makes the hotel a reasonable choice for families as much as couples or solo travellers passing through Cork's southwest.

Macroom itself is a working market town, not a resort, so the streets around the hotel have butchers, pharmacies, and supermarkets alongside the usual pubs — errands are straightforward on foot. The N22, the main road between Cork city and Killarney, runs through the town, so most of southwest Cork is accessible without a complicated drive.
