Changa Safari Camp

Set under mopane woodland along Lake Kariba's shore within Matusadona National Park, Changa Safari Camp holds six luxury tents and two family tents around a central pool, beach, and dining deck. Each tent features indoor and outdoor showers, an outdoor bathtub, double basins, a private veranda facing the lake, fans, and a lockable safe. The family tents connect two standard units via an inter-leading passage; the children's room is en-suite but lacks the outdoor facilities of the main room. Solar power runs the camp. WiFi and limited mobile coverage are available.

Guided game drives depart at sunrise and in the late afternoon, tracking elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and antelope across the national park's floodplain and woodland. Walking safaris follow elephant trails through the bush with professional guides. Boat cruises explore the lake's bays and inlets, where hippos and crocodiles frequent the shore and 350 bird species have been recorded. Fishing trips target tigerfish and bream. Excursions run to Sanyati Gorge, a ten-kilometre stretch of steep cliffs and undisturbed water upstream from the camp. African Parks co-manages Matusadona; rhino reintroduction is planned for 2026.

You can hear hippos from the tents at night. The camp has a restaurant, bar, and spa open two weeks per month on selected dates. Laundry service is complimentary. Meals are served on the deck, under trees, or on the beach in candlelit settings.
