Chundukwa sits on the Zambezi upstream from Livingstone, a working horse ranch with six riverside chalets and a separate private cottage on the bank. The setting is quiet — teak trees, the river moving past, hippos visible from the decks of the more secluded chalets — and the lodge runs as a full-board property, with meals, house drinks, airport transfers, and one on-site activity per night included in the stay.

The five river chalets each face the Zambezi directly. Honeyguide and Jacana are built on stilts at the water's edge, open-fronted with old teak flooring; Bee Eater has a freestanding outdoor bathtub on its private deck; Kingfisher sits furthest along and is the most private of the five. Chundu Cottage is a separate unit bookable on a sole-use basis, with its own pool, suited to families or small groups.

Horse trails are the lodge's signature offering: guests ride through riverfront paths and bush with the ranch's own horses. The Zambezi is also used for river cruises and catch-and-release fishing. More than one hundred and eighty bird species have been recorded on the property, including the African Finfoot and Livingstone's Turaco. Guided walks for white rhino run in nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

Victoria Falls is a short drive from the lodge; the property runs a private vehicle and guide for day trips there, with no fixed departure times.
