Cinnamon House

Rooms here look out on Table Mountain, the vlei, the garden or the pool, depending which of the eleven you're given. Three are called Luxury, eight Standard, and nine take a queen bed while two are twin-bedded with three-quarter mattresses. Two rooms sit on the ground floor, nine upstairs. A self-catering apartment has since been added, with a double bed, sleeper couch, kitchen appliances, a work desk and its own outdoor chairs on a small terrace. Housekeeping calls daily, and linen is changed every third day or on request. Downstairs, a patio does double duty as the social room, furnished for guests who want a drink from the honesty bar rather than an evening out. It is a compact stay. Cinnamon House sits in Sunset Beach, Milnerton, a short drive from the beach itself and from central Cape Town. Breakfast is served each morning and comes up often in guest accounts as the house's strongest suit. Kitesurfing, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Bo-Kaap are all within reach for a day out, with Table Mountain's cableway among the standard excursions from here. Parking is limited, worth noting if you're driving. The house takes both business travellers and holidaymakers, and repeat guests are common enough that staff know several by name.
