Daunara sits on an island in the Okavango Delta, inside the NG/32 Okavango Kopano Mokoro Community Trust concession — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The camp holds five tented suites, sleeping a maximum of twelve guests, which means the place can also be taken on exclusive use. Four are king en-suite suites; the fifth is a family villa of two interconnected king rooms with a shared living area, outdoor deck, and extra beds for children under sixteen.

Every suite overlooks a permanent lagoon. Hippos are in the water year-round, and elephants move regularly across the surrounding floodplains. The Delta's seasonal floodwaters draw additional wildlife, including sitatunga and red lechwe — both water-adapted antelope that are rare elsewhere. The birdlife is consistent and varied through all seasons.

From camp you can go out by open vehicle on day or night game drives, on foot with a guide, by mokoro on the channels, or by boat. Catch-and-release fishing and scenic helicopter flights are also available. The camp is owner-run, and meals are prepared by a private chef; communal dining is the default arrangement.

The camp works directly with surrounding communities in the concession, and a share of tourism income stays in the area. Access is by light aircraft to a nearby airstrip.
