El Remanso's grounds cover forest and river terrain, and guided walks through them come included as part of the stay. Options range from the Forest Hike and River Walk to the Short Hike, Early Hike and Night Hike, plus dedicated Garden Bird Watching, Lowlands Bird Watching and the Matapalo Tour. Each is led by a trained guide with subject-matter knowledge, covering flora, birdlife and nocturnal creatures depending on the route and time of day. The concierge and guides advise on timing for each tour to suit conditions and wildlife activity. No travel beyond the property is required to take part.
