Emboo

Set along a forested bend of the Talek River in the Masai Mara National Reserve, Emboo operates on solar power with no generators, running 24 hours on battery storage charged by a rooftop array. The camp joined Asilia's portfolio in December 2025 under a long-term lease. Eleven tented suites occupy the tree canopy above the river, each with a private lounge, bedroom, and en-suite rain shower looking onto the water. The family tent links two separate bedrooms through a shared entrance, each room available as double or twin. Interiors draw colours from the lilac-breasted roller. Lions, leopards, elephants, and hippos move through the unfenced grounds regularly; more than 100 bird species have been recorded from the suites.

Game drives run in electric safari vehicles converted from four-wheel-drive chassis, charged by the same solar system. The silent motors allow closer approach to wildlife without engine noise. Between July and October the Great Migration crosses the Talek and Mara rivers within reach of camp. Vertical and hydroponic gardens grow organic produce 100 steps from the kitchen; guests can harvest ingredients with the culinary team. A bush spa overlooks the river. The Mara's first running track sits within camp grounds. Maasai staff lead visits to nearby villages, teach fire-making and tracking, and share medicinal-plant knowledge. Hot-air balloon flights lift at sunrise. Greywater systems and biogas production recycle waste on site.
