Enkaji Resort

Built from local resources on the Olesekut Hills, this family-run resort sits beneath what its owners call Champagne Ridge, an hour's drive from Nairobi. Zeiny and Phil, the hosts, live on site and run the property themselves. The name means 'home' in the Maasai language, and the seven cottages reflect that: each one differs slightly in design, though all share an open-plan sitting area, a king-size bed, and an ensuite bathroom. Cottage 2, the first built on the property back in 2019, sleeps four across two rooms and looks onto a front garden near the bonfire lounge. Solar-fitted kitchens serve guests on a self-catering plan, and every cottage has its own barbecue grill and outdoor space, whether garden, bonfire area, or decking. Housekeeping cleans daily. The hills roll toward the Great Rift Valley, and sunsets here draw guests out to the terrace most evenings. Activities run from Ngong Hills hikes to game drives toward the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and Samburu, plus a bush breakfast at Lake Magadi with its hot springs and flamingos. The resort also works with the nearby Irkieyo Friends School and local Kajiado West businesses. It is a quiet, working stay rather than a formal one, shaped around its own hosts and its own hills.
