Etosha Oberland Lodge

Etosha Oberland Lodge sits in the Kunene Region near Ombika, ten kilometres from the Andersson Gate on the southern edge of Etosha National Park — close enough that a morning drive puts you inside the park before the light hardens. The lodge has twenty suites and family suites spread widely across the property among large mopane trees, positioned and angled so that no chalet looks into another. Each unit is around seventy-five square metres, with a verandah, lounge area, outside shower, minibar, tea and coffee station, air conditioning, and a clear view of the surrounding savannah.

Two waterholes in front of the lodge draw game within sight of the main building, and the infinity pool looks out over the same open plain. The restaurant serves a five-course dinner each evening, either inside or on the terrace; the kitchen also accommodates vegetarian requirements.

Activities on the property include guided bushwalks, where a guide covers the flora and fauna of the area on foot — tracking antelope, identifying birdlife, and explaining the traditional medicinal use of local plants. Game drives into Etosha run on a four-wheel-drive safari vehicle with a guide. The lodge also offers stargazing, given the low light pollution at this distance from any town.

Family suites sleep up to four. The lodge accepts credit cards, and laundry service is available.
