Explora Village

Set 400 metres from Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side, Shearwater Explorers Village occupies a site within indigenous vegetation where elephants and buffalo sometimes graze near the grounds. The lodge holds 96 rooms across three categories: 54 deluxe, 42 standard, and serviced camping facilities. Each deluxe room spans twin or king beds, air conditioning, mosquito nets, an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, a room safe, tea and coffee station, USB charging points, and a patio opening onto a small garden. Standard rooms carry the same amenities in a more compact layout. Serviced dome tents provide twin stretcher beds with fresh linen, daily turndown, and shared ablution blocks with kitchen access. Own-camping pitches share the same communal facilities.

An open-air restaurant and bar operate throughout the day, serving a complimentary continental breakfast for hotel guests and an à la carte menu drawing on Zimbabwean ingredients — peri-peri chicken, sadza with peanut butter spinach, river bream, crocodile stir-fry, and vegetarian curries. The outdoor pool sits beside the dining terrace. The lodge provides wheelchair-accessible rooms, secure parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi across the property. A dedicated activity desk books helicopter flights over the falls, sunset cruises on the Zambezi River, guided walks in Zambezi National Park, white-water rafting, and bungee jumps from Victoria Falls Bridge. You can walk to the falls entrance in under ten minutes.
