Fairmont Le Montreux Palace

Fairmont Le Montreux Palace stands on the shore of Lake Geneva in Montreux, in the canton of Vaud, with the Alps rising directly across the water. The building dates from 1906 and is a well-preserved example of Belle-Époque architecture: an ornate stone façade, high ceilings, and a lakefront position that has changed little in over a century.

The hotel holds two hundred and thirty-six rooms and suites, all furnished to a five-star standard and fitted with current technology. Three restaurants and bars operate on site — you can eat with a view of the lake or move between the different rooms depending on the occasion. A business centre is available for guests travelling for work.

The spa is the main draw after a day on the lake or in the mountains. It includes an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, alongside wet facilities — a steam room, a sauna, and a hot-water soaking pool — as well as a fitness centre. The outdoor pool sits close enough to the lake that the two bodies of water read as one from a distance, with the Alps forming the backdrop.

Montreux itself is walkable from the hotel door, including the lakeside promenade and the rail station, which connects directly to Geneva in under an hour.
