Geiger’s Camp Motswari Private Game Reserve

Geiger's Camp sits on a ridge inside the Timbavati and Umbabat reserves, overlooking the Nhlaralumi River and the bush below. The building is rock and stone, originally a family house, and it holds four rooms — each with a private deck facing the bush. Owner Marion Geiger-Orengo styled the rooms together with an interior decorator; the walls carry original paintings by Geiger-Orengo. With a maximum of six guests, the camp suits a family or small group travelling together.

The main deck has an oval infinity pool overlooking the bush. An open-air boma with a fire pit serves as the evening dining space. A lounge leads out to the terrace. Guests can also use the facilities of Motswari's Main Camp, two kilometres away.

Game drives and night drives go out from camp into Big Five country — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo all move through this part of the Timbavati. Guided bush walks and rhino tracking are also on offer. The Giraffe's Nest, an open-air treehouse overlooking Xanatsi Dam, is available as an overnight add-on for guests of Geiger's Camp or Motswari Main Camp; a guide escorts you to the dam before sunset.

Massages are available at the camp, and the property connects to the wider spa and facilities at Main Camp.
