Bwindi Community AKP Tours

A two-hour tour through the villages neighbouring Gorilla Forest Lodge, led by Dennis Mugume, Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy's Field Coordinator in Uganda. The route takes in the Bwindi Women's Bicycle Enterprise and a beadmaking workshop, a local school and hospital, and a chance to meet the Batwa, the region's indigenous people and traditional forest guardians. These stops connect to health, enterprise and education projects that A&K Philanthropy has developed with Bwindi communities over time. Mugume explains the region's social fabric beyond the wildlife and scenery. Duration can be adjusted to suit guests.
