Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus

The Kurhaus sits directly on the Scheveningen seafront, a large nineteenth-century building that faces the North Sea a short distance from The Hague. The building is a protected monument, and the hotel occupies it in full.

Rooms and suites are modern in fit-out and face the sea; a number of them have a private balcony. Each comes with Wi-Fi, a Nespresso machine, a desk, and a safe. The building's scale means the rooms are genuinely spacious rather than the compressed format common in older European seafront hotels.

The terrace is wide and directly above the water, used for breakfast, lunch, and dinner when the North Sea weather allows — and sometimes when it does not. Inside, the spa has a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, and an indoor swimming pool, as well as treatment rooms.

Scheveningen is the coastal district of The Hague rather than a separate town, so the tram connections into the city centre are frequent and the ride is short. The beach runs along the front of the hotel, and the pier is within walking distance along the seafront.
