Grand Hotel National Luzern

The Grand Hotel National sits directly on the shore of Lake Lucerne, close to the centre of the city. You can stay in a classic or contemporary room, suite, or apartment — many with balconies that face the lake or the surrounding mountains. The building is historic, and the interiors run from traditional to current depending on the wing and room category you choose.

Three venues handle food and drink. The Sharing Brasserie Juliette runs a brasserie format — the kind of place for a long meal with a group. Café César is the lighter option. The National Bar is the oldest of the three and the most established fixture of the hotel, a proper bar rather than a lobby afterthought.

The hotel runs two grand ballrooms alongside flexible conference spaces, which puts it in regular use for events, weddings, and corporate meetings — useful to know if you are booking around a weekend in high season.

A dedicated wellness floor holds an indoor pool and sauna. These are part of the hotel rather than a separate paid facility.
