Grand Hotel New Oji
Grand Hotel New Oji sits in a busy urban neighbourhood in Tomakomai, a port city on the southern coast of Hokkaidō. The hotel has two hundred and seven rooms, each with free Wi-Fi, a television, a desk, and a minifridge with a small seating corner. Depending on which room you book, the view faces either the ocean or the city.
Four restaurants operate on-site, between them covering Japanese, Chinese, and international cooking. A breakfast buffet is included in the stay. Room service runs alongside the restaurants for guests who prefer to eat in.
The building is two minutes on foot from a bus stop. For drivers, paid parking is on-site. Tomakomai Ferry Terminal is a ten-minute drive away — useful if you are connecting by sea. Lake Utonai, a wetland lake and bird reserve, is a twenty-minute drive, and Nishiki Onuma Park is about thirty-five minutes out. Tarumaezan Shrine, centred on the volcano that defines the city's skyline, is three kilometres from the hotel. Minato Park is two kilometres away.
Coin-operated laundry is available for guests on longer stays.
