Grand Hotel Tremezzo
Grand Hotel Tremezzo stands on the western shore of Lake Como in Tremezzo, an Art Nouveau building that has been taking guests for more than a hundred years. From the hotel you look directly across the water to Bellagio and, behind it, the Grigne mountains. Villa Carlotta's gardens share the immediate shoreline next door.
The hotel holds eighty rooms and twelve suites, all with contemporary fittings. Three swimming pools serve the property — one of them floats on the lake itself — and the hotel operates the only private beach on Lake Como, which sits within its own grounds. Those grounds extend to over twenty thousand square metres in total.
Tremezzo sits on the western arm of the lake, the branch that runs toward Colico and the Alps. The village is small; the hotel is the dominant presence on this stretch of shore. Ferries connect Tremezzo to Bellagio, Varenna, and the other lakeside towns, and the ferry landing is close to the hotel entrance. The Como–Colico road runs alongside the property, which is the standard route for guests arriving by car or taxi from Como town to the south.
