Grande Fjord Hotel
Set one hundred metres from the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord, Grande Fjord Hotel is forty-six rooms and two suites built on a ridge two kilometres from the centre of Geiranger. Panorama Fjord View rooms occupy the top floors and open onto private balconies. Standard rooms face the fjord; some offer balconies, others a limited view. The Skaggen Suite spans seventy square metres with a separate bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, living room, dining table, and balcony overlooking the mountain of the same name. The Dalsnibba Suite runs sixty square metres and includes a Murphy bed, small living room, and balcony facing the fjord. All rooms carry Wonderland Superior beds, Nespresso machines, flat-screen televisions, Sprekenhus toiletries, and Dyson fans. High-speed wireless internet is complimentary.
Restaurant Hyskje, on the top floor, serves breakfast and modern Scandinavian meals at dinner using meat from Hellesylt, salmon from Storfjorden, cod from the west coast, and vegetables from local farms. The Distillery Bar on the second floor of the new building pours cocktails made with house-distilled gin and aquavit; distillery tours with samples run daily. A jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness centre overlook the fjord. Roa Sauna, just below the hotel at the water's edge, offers barrel cold-plunge and outdoor showers. The hotel operates a complimentary shuttle to Geiranger centre and hiking trailheads. Kayak hire, motorboat rental, and guided fjord cruises depart from the shore.
