4x4 Flower Safari

A guided drive through Grootbos's two thousand five hundred hectares of fynbos and Afro-Montane forest, home to eight hundred recorded plant species and six found nowhere else on earth. The guide stops along the way to point out detail invisible at walking pace: how a sunbird's beak is shaped to fit one flower exactly, why the reserve's honey has a flavour found nowhere else, and how periodic fires clear old growth to let new plants germinate. It is a botanical rather than a game safari, built around looking closely rather than covering distance.
