Boat-based Whale Watching (June - December)

Run by Dyer Island Cruises, this trip departs every morning from Kleinbaai harbour, a transfer from Grootbos. Beyond Southern Right Whales, which often approach the boat out of curiosity, guests may see dolphins, African Penguins, Cape Fur Seals and Great White Sharks at the surface — the Marine Big Five. The vessel holds twenty guests, with a toilet, upper decks, sun shelter, and snacks and drinks provided. Specialist guides explain the whales' behaviour and the wider marine ecology en route. The excursion lasts about two hours and runs June to December. It is not included in standard Grootbos rates.
