Gryphon House

Set above Camps Bay with the Atlantic filling most windows, Gryphon House is a four-bedroom villa built around views of sea, bay and mountain. Each of the four rooms takes a different angle on the coast: one looks toward the bay, one to open sea, one to the mountain behind, and one takes in both sea and peaks together. All open onto the pool terrace. Inside, bold African art and sculpture sit against modern, understated finishes, and the layout runs open from kitchen to dining area to lounge. A fireplace anchors the indoor lounge, framed by full-height windows facing the water. Doors lead from there onto a veranda with its own outdoor lounge and a dining area furnished for groups. Beyond it, a garden scented with lavender runs down to a private pool with sun loungers, shielded from the street. It is a compact stay, four rooms only, which keeps the villa suited to one group rather than several at once. Camps Bay's beach and restaurants are close by, and the house arranges laundry service, secure parking and Wi-Fi throughout. You can watch the light shift over the Atlantic from the lounge without leaving the sofa. Check-in runs from 2pm, checkout at 11am.
