Hakusembe River Lodge sits on the bank of the Okavango River about sixteen kilometres west of Rundu on the B10, in Namibia's Kavango East Region. The lodge holds twenty thatched bungalows — twin, triple, and two family configurations — all overlooking the river. Each room has en suite shower facilities, air conditioning, mosquito nets, a tea and coffee station, and a safe. The family bungalows sleep up to seven and include loft beds; one twin bungalow is fitted for guests with restricted mobility.

The river is the main activity. The lodge runs a sunset champagne cruise aboard the Hakusembe River Queen, with half a bottle of champagne per person included. Morning boat cruises follow the river channels for birdwatching with a guide. Fishing trips go out for tigerfish, bream, and catfish, with a maximum of two guests per boat. Note that between September and December, low water levels can limit or prevent boat trips entirely — it is worth checking conditions at check-in.

On land, a floating deck over the river is the quietest place to sit. The Mbunza Cultural Village is within walking distance. The lodge has a restaurant, bar, cold-water swimming pool, curio shop, secure parking, and twenty-four-hour security. Wi-Fi is available on the property.

For travellers driving between Windhoek or Etosha and the Zambezi Region, the lodge sits directly on the B10 route and works well as a planned overnight stop.
