Hanns House
A private hotel in Xinyi, built around a family's own history

Hanns House is a hotel on Keelung Road in Taipei's Xinyi District, a short walk from the Taipei City Hall MRT station. It sits within reach of Taipei 101, the Xinyi shopping streets, and Xiangshan Park, close enough to the city's older lanes to notice the shift from glass towers to quieter, low-built streets. The building was shaped by its owner, Teresa Wei-Hsin Ma, who drew the interior design from her grandfather's era rather than a design brief. Rooms run from compact doubles to suites of 46 square metres or more, several with their own kitchenette, desk, and separate shower. Two restaurants operate on site, along with a bar, a gym, and a self-service laundry room. Guests can watch Xinyi's skyline light up from the higher floors, or turn the other way to older rooftops and quieter streets. Front desk service runs around the clock. Paid parking and paid airport transfer can be arranged directly with the hotel. It is a compact stay, built less on scale than on private, personal detail.
