Watering hole in front of the main area at Hideaways Camp Kuzuma, Chobe, Kazuma Forest Reserve, Botswana.
Perfect for Adventure, Birding, Flora, Leisure, Nature, Relaxation, Star Gazing, Wildlife

Camp Kuzuma sits inside the Kazuma Forest Reserve on an eleven-thousand-hectare private concession that shares a border with Chobe National Park and lies adjacent to Hwange National Park across the border in Zimbabwe. Because both parks push wildlife through this corridor, game moves across the concession throughout the year rather than concentrating only at a water source or a seasonal point.

Seven tented suites stand under a canopy of mopane trees, each designed to face out into the bush while keeping the surrounding area private from neighbouring tents. Inside, the rooms are open-plan with high-back Victorian baths, outside showers, private sun decks, king-sized beds under mosquito nets, and cotton linen. The camp runs entirely off the grid — solar power and no municipal connection — but carries a bar, restaurant, pool, and spa.

Guides take guests out in open Land Rovers on the private concession: morning and late-afternoon drives follow the cooler hours when animals are most active, and evening drives cover nocturnal species. For guests staying two nights or more, a Chobe River cruise is included — the river holds some of the largest elephant concentrations in Africa, and the banks draw puku, lechwe, and hippo. The Kazuma Plains hold around three hundred and eighty bird species, which makes the area worth the attention of serious birders.

Spa treatments are available on site at an additional cost. The camp is reached via Kasane, the nearest town.
