Horizon by Ongava

Little Ongava sits on a hill inside the thirty-thousand-hectare Ongava Game Reserve, on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. There are three villas — no more — which means the camp takes a maximum of six guests and assigns them a dedicated vehicle and guide for the duration of their stay. Every game drive, night drive, waterhole hide visit, and guided walk is exclusive to your party.

Each villa has an air-conditioned bedroom, an indoor bath positioned to look outward, separate indoor and outdoor showers, a double vanity, a fireplace in the private sala, a mini-bar, and a plunge pool on its own deck. The lounge and dining area open onto a deck that looks directly down onto a waterhole below the camp, where lion, black and white rhino, black-faced impala, and other plains game come to drink. You can sit at the table and watch the same animals you drove out to find that morning.

Activities run on the reserve — game drives, night drives, guided walks, and time in the waterhole hide — and the camp also offers full- or half-day excursions into Etosha National Park, which borders the reserve to the north. Rhino tracking with experienced guides is offered on the reserve itself. The Ongava Visitor Centre, also on the reserve, has displays covering the geology, plants, and wildlife of the area. The nearest international airport is Hosea Kutako in Windhoek; fly-in access to the reserve is available.
