Set on an island in North Malé Atoll 40 km from Velana International Airport, Joy Island Maldives by The Cocoon Collection occupies land whose outline resembles a butterfly when seen from above. A white-sand beach encircles the island; the lagoon runs turquoise. One hundred and fifty-one villas split between 60 overwater and 91 beach units. Beach villas at 50 m² on the island's east face sunrise; each carries an open-air Maldivian bathroom. Beach suites at 70 m² occupy the opposite shore and face sunset. Family beach villas span 100 m² and include an interconnecting door from the veranda. Selected beach suites add a private pool overlooking the beach.

Overwater lagoon villas measure 60 m² and stand on the east side, sunrise-facing. Lagoon suites at 70 m² face west toward evening light and give direct access to the lagoon below. Lagoon suites with pool reach 100 m². The two-bedroom beach residence runs 300 m² and includes an outdoor dining area, private plunge pool, and beachfront views. The 280 m² lagoon residence, the largest overwater suite, occupies a corner position with a private pool and deck furnished with sunbeds. Interiors across all categories carry contemporary Italian design by LAGO.

Three restaurants operate on the island. The Market, the main dining room, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner at live cooking stations covering international cuisines; a Japanese teppanyaki corner functions within the same space. Palm Beach, at the island's tip, combines restaurant and bar and serves barbecue under sail-shaded tables by the shore. Il Basilico specialises in wood-fired pizzas and Italian dishes. Rainbow Bar sits beside a swimming pool and stocks wines and a crafted drinks menu. Destination dining—sandbank picnics, lagoon dinners, garden settings—can be arranged through the island host. Speedboat transfer from the airport takes 40 minutes; seaplane service operated by Trans Maldivian Airways covers the distance in ten minutes during daylight hours.
