Jumbo Junction

Set on a peninsula reaching into the Okavango Delta about 30 kilometres from Seronga, Jumbo Junction sits where two elephant corridors cross, a convergence that gave the camp its name. The site borders a 220,000-acre concession linking the delta to the Selinda Spillway and the Linyanti River, unfenced and open to guests. Six raised tents and two chalets look over the floodplain from a shared dining and lounge area, the sort of spot where sunrise turns the water gold. Cattle from nearby communities graze alongside wild game on the same open ground, a daily sight the camp treats as ordinary rather than remarkable. A jetty by the camp gives direct access to the delta's channels, used for mokoro trips, boat safaris and fishing. On land, four-by-four drives and guided walks cover the concession, where sightings often go unshared with other vehicles given how remote the area is. You can also join a village tour, watch conservation work tied to the camp's elephant corridors, or arrange a helicopter flight over the flood plains at extra cost. Jumbo Tents come with twin beds, an outdoor shower, and 220V power; the two chalets have double beds and en-suite bathrooms, with all catering done through the main camp. It is a small, working base for delta exploration, not a resort.
