Jumeirah Vittaveli sits on a private island in North Central Province, twenty minutes from Malé by motorised catamaran. The transfer is fast enough that the resort feels remote without requiring a domestic flight or a long sea crossing.

The resort holds eighty-nine villas and suites, each with a private pool and situated either on the beach or above the lagoon on stilts. One- and two-bedroom configurations are available, which means the same property works for couples and for families travelling with children.

Four food and drink outlets cover different registers. Swarna serves Indian cuisine. Fenesse is the overwater restaurant, focused on dinner. Samsara is the all-day dining option with a broad menu suited to families. MU Beach Bar and Grill operates at the water's edge. Beyond the fixed restaurants, the resort offers private dining arrangements it calls Dining by Design: options include breakfast served on a traditional Maldivian dhoni boat and an in-pool dinner where you eat seated in the water.

The catamaran runs between the resort and Malé, making day connections to the capital straightforward for arriving and departing guests.
