Kala Camp sits deep in the Okavango Delta, about twelve kilometres south-west of Setari Camp, looking out over a broad sweep of floodplain with a palm forest on the far side. The camp holds seven tented suites — the property accommodates up to twelve guests — each with an en-suite shower, separate WC, hot and cold running water, fan, writing desk, and beds that can be made up as a double or twin. All linen is pure cotton. Each tent has a verandah.

What you do at Kala depends on the season. Between May and September, when water levels are high, the camp runs boating trips and mokoro excursions — the mokoro being the traditional dugout canoe that has been used to move through the Delta for generations. Four-wheel-drive game drives are offered between October and April, again subject to flood levels. Walking safaris run throughout the year, with armed guides and a maximum group size of seven. Helicopter scenic flights, fishing, and birding are also available.

The main area has a communal dining space, a pool, and a bar where you can watch the sun go down over the floodplain. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout. Airport transfers are included, and laundry is handled at no additional cost.
