Kalahari Anib Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia
Red sand stretches in every direction from the lodge. Kalahari Anib sits thirty kilometres northeast of Mariental on the C20, a sedan-accessible base set on the eastern edge of the Kalahari Desert. Thirty-two standard rooms face a shaded courtyard and pool; nineteen comfort rooms overlook open savannah. All rooms have twin beds, en-suite showers, air-conditioning, and tea facilities. Four family rooms accommodate children under twelve with bunk beds in a separate bedroom.
Guided drives at sunrise or sunset cross Gondwana Kalahari Park in open vehicles, tracking wildlife over red dunes and grassy plains. A bushman wisdom walk led by a local San guide teaches plant identification, water-finding techniques, and animal tracking. Self-guided hiking trails begin at reception and thread through the immediate desert. A three-kilometre night walk after dinner uses UV lights and laser pointers to reveal scorpions, spiders, and nocturnal tracks invisible by day. Morning family drives include time on the dunes with coffee and hot chocolate.
The lodge has a restaurant serving buffet breakfast and dinner, an à la carte lunch menu, a bar, and two cold-water pools. A curio shop, playground, and secure parking are on site. Staff speak English and Afrikaans. Twenty-four-hour security is standard.
