Kasabushi Camp

Founded by a family who spent seasons exploring the Kafue River, Kasabushi Camp stands on the western bank in central Kafue National Park. The concession operates in partnership with African Parks and AP Kafue, contributing to anti-poaching operations and wildlife monitoring across the park. Three river chalets and one honeymoon suite occupy a stretch of riverbank framed by granite boulders and miombo woodland. Each chalet holds a private veranda, ensuite bathroom, and open-air rain shower facing the water. The honeymoon suite spans 60 m² and can accommodate two adults or be configured as a family unit with two additional beds. Hand-crafted timber furniture and cotton linens furnish the rooms.

The camp offers boat cruises on a nine-seater aluminium vessel, navigating channels and granite formations where hippos surface and fish eagles hunt. Game drives depart in open-rooftop vehicles with guides who track lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and cheetah across Kafue's diverse ecosystems. Walking safaris lead to the Lubalanzuki granite inselberg for sunrise views over the woodland, and to the rapids where rock pools form in the dry months. Over 400 bird species inhabit the riverine forest and miombo, including Pel's fishing owl and kingfisher. Sunrise yoga sessions run on the riverbank, led by a certified instructor. The camp closes January through March and operates April to December. No phone signal reaches the site; communication runs via WhatsApp where connectivity allows or satellite where available.
