Klein-Aus Vista Desert Horse Inn Gondwana Collection Namibia

Set among rocky granite hills two kilometres west of Aus on the B4, Klein-Aus Vista Desert Horse Inn is a base lodge in southern Namibia where Namib sand meets the grassy plains of the Pro-Namib. The property holds 30 rooms. Twin rooms contain two three-quarter beds, an en-suite shower, a lounge, a verandah, a fridge, a personal safe, a heater, and ceiling and table fans. Three-bed units sleep three in single beds. Four-bed units contain two single beds and one bunk bed.

Six marked hiking trails cross the property and the adjacent Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park, ranging from 4.1 kilometres to 20.4 kilometres in length. The shortest takes 90 minutes; the longest, five hours. Mountain-bike routes run from 18 to 35 kilometres on single-track trails suited to intermediate riders. Dual-suspension bikes are available for rent. Guided scenic drives depart in late afternoon for sunset drives through the park; morning and afternoon drives explore the Succulent Karoo biome. The lodge arranges self-guided trips to the Wild Horses viewpoint at Garub, 20 kilometres away, and day trips to Kolmanskop ghost town, 115 kilometres west on tar road, and Lüderitz, 120 kilometres distant.

The lodge has a restaurant, a bar, a pool, and secure parking. Laundry service is available on-site. Staff speak English and Afrikaans. Complimentary internet access is provided, with paid options for higher data limits.
