Kruger Gate Hotel

Kruger Gate Hotel stands on the Sabie River bank in riverine woodland, immediately adjacent to the Paul Kruger Gate — the entry point into the southern reaches of Kruger National Park. That position lets rangers have guests through the gate at first light for morning drives, and back for lunch without losing half the day to a transfer.

The hotel runs open-vehicle safaris in several formats: morning, afternoon, all-day and night drives, as well as private game drives. An all-day drive lasts ten hours, includes breakfast and lunch stops in the park, and covers enough ground that a full Big Five sighting in a single day is at least possible — though rangers are careful not to promise it.

Rooms run across several categories: Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin, Deluxe Family, and Luxury rooms with leather and wood finishes and a private library. The Nkanyi Suite sleeps two in separate king bedrooms and has space to entertain up to ten guests. Self-catering chalets sleep six across three bedrooms with a fully equipped kitchen. All 145 rooms and units have air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, bar fridge, safe and in-room dining.

The Pool Bar and Viewing Deck runs along a private stretch of Sabie riverbank. The infinity pool is a quiet zone for adults; a separate family pool takes children under twelve. The spa sits on the riverbank with treatment rooms that look into the park. The Lapa Restaurant serves dinner outdoors under a fireside boma.

The hotel draws water from the Sabie River, purifies it on site, and returns cleaned water to the river. Two thirds of the property is zoned for conservation.
