Kuyenda Bushcamp

Kuyenda is a small bushcamp of five raised rondavel chalets set beside the Manzi River inside South Luangwa National Park. The chalets are built from reed and thatch in traditional style, each on a wooden deck that looks out over a grassy plain. Buffalo herds move regularly along the Manzi riverbed below; you can watch them from the deck without leaving your chair.

Each chalet has a large bed under a full mosquito-net canopy and an en suite bathroom that is open to the sky — double vanities, a shower, and an unobstructed view across the plain. The bathrooms sit outside the main chalet structure, so you wash under open air and, at night, open stars.

The main living and dining area is a larger rondavel with open sides and a small bar, wooden floors, and views toward the hills. It is where guests gather after a walking safari or a game drive. Walking safari is the primary activity here — South Luangwa is one of the places where the guided bush walk developed as a formal offering, and Kuyenda's guides work this landscape on foot. Game drives run alongside walks for guests who prefer a vehicle. Bird watching is also a serious option: the plains and riverbed attract considerable species variety.

Laundry is handled by the camp at no additional charge. The camp has battery charging facilities and internet access.
