Kwara

Kwara Camp sits on a permanent waterway inside the Kwara Private Concession, sharing a boundary with Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. The camp is adult-only and holds nine canvas tents, each with a deck over the lagoon. The bathroom in each tent opens both inward and outward — a walled outdoor shower alongside the enclosed one, plus a bath — and the views from all of them run across the floodplains. Ceiling fans and mosquito nets are standard.

Five activities run year-round with no seasonal restrictions: game drives by day and by night, guided walking safaris, motorboat trips, and mokoro excursions. Game drives use custom Toyota vehicles with three rows of three seats, and each vehicle goes out with both a guide and a tracker — a two-person team that allows one to work the radio and sightings network while the other watches the land. Fishing is seasonal and targets tigerfish, African pike, several tilapia species, and sharp-tooth catfish in the Okavango system, recognised as a capable destination for both fly fishing and spin fishing.

The Godikwe Lagoon heronry comes alive from October through November, when yellow-billed storks, marabou storks, sacred ibises, black-crowned night herons, African darters, reed cormorants and egrets take over the trees. A double-decker boat runs through papyrus-lined channels to view the heronry and scan for sitatunga. Lion, cheetah and leopard are regularly sighted on the concession, alongside elephant, giraffe, zebra, lechwe, impala and hippo.

The communal area — dining room, lounge, safari shop — sits at the centre of camp, with two pool areas, each with a small bar, at opposite ends.
