Laikipia Wilderness River Camp
The River Camp sits on the bank of the Ewaso Narok river on Laikipia Road outside Nanyuki. Four thatched cottages face the river, grouped around a shared dining and common room where guests eat together. The thatched roofs keep the rooms cool during the afternoon, and the river runs audibly behind it all.
Two of the four cottages are built for families. The small family cottage adds a child's single bed to a double-room layout. The large family cottage has a low walled divider down the middle — twin beds on one side, a double on the other — giving a family of four two sleeping spaces with shared access to the open-air bathroom. The other two cottages are each configured as a double, twin, or triple room. Every cottage has an en-suite open-air bathroom, electricity, and mosquito nets.
Activities run from the camp or out across the wider Laikipia concession: game drives, night drives, guided walks, kayaking, canoeing, catch-and-release fishing, cycling, elephant interaction, and helicopter scenic flights. The area is malaria-free. Laundry is complimentary, and internet access carries no additional fee.
The camp shares its staff, guides, catering, and programme with the main Laikipia Wilderness Camp. Groups that want the whole site to themselves can book the River Camp on an exclusive basis.
